The visitors

A visit to Burgers' Ocean is like a diving adventure. From a beach you look out over a lagoon and you will see a coral reef of which the tops have appeared above water during low tide. Then you literally walk down into the lagoon and soon you are surrounded by hundreds of beautiful fishes and corals. Next you intensively get acquainted with the little and large reef inhabitants like the bizarre porcupine fish, grotesque murene fish and colourful groupers. The sounds of the surf have been replaced by the monotonous rustle of the breathing of a diver. An imposing, living reef provides new discoveries al the time: little shrimp, disc anemones and a sea cucumber. Next, in the section where day and night are reversed, it appears that the coral polyps, crabs and many other animals become active at night.
Once past the reef, like a diver, you get to the immeasurably open ocean. From the mysterious depths suddenly sharks appear or a large guitar fish. The smaller fishes conscienciously stay close to a ship wreck or to the coral wall. In case of danger they can easily find a hiding place there.
Further down live the inhabitants of the dark depths: coral devils. Ultimately you arrive at rocky coastland where through a tunnel, surrounded by Fish on all sides, you leave the ocean again. The imposing spotted eagle rays that live here, bring an end to an unforgettable adventure.
