The plants

The entire area had to be redesigned; only a part of the original trees could remain in place. The vegetation has been planted almost in its entirety in the spring of 2008 and will grow out over the years into an exotic looking thicket with many species that look like trees or bushes from the real rain forest. The use of bamboo, winter-hardy bananas and palm trees was obvious, but also ferns and lianas contribute to the feeling of a real 'Rimba'.
